I’m a 30-year-old Project Manager working for a financial institution located in the South West of the UK. I have experience running a wide range of projects for customers in all business sectors, as well as key internal projects that have transformed the way business functions work.

I’m an INTJ according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

I love to solve problems others didn’t even realise they had; usually by simplifying processes and automating workflows using the latest technology available.

While I’m not a Vlogger (or even particularly comfortable in front of a still camera!) I thought I’d take inspiration from the About Me Tag videos by answering some questions to help you learn more about me.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I’m a huge Tottenham Hotspur fan, I try to get to at least a few games every season.  I also love to play PC games, the bulk of what I play is simulation games, anything from Cities Skylines to Train Simulator & Euro Truck Simulator.

I’m also a massive Formula 1 fan (more on that below), I’ll get up in the middle of the night to watch the races from around the world.  Seeing the technology and passion in all of the teams to strive for the marginal gains needed to progress is something I like to try and bring into my work life.

Did you choose your profession or did it choose you?

I can honestly say my profession chose me.  Having started work in a call centre I was approached to take on a secondment to a completely different role to anything I’ve done before; clearly my employer saw potential in me.  I was seconded into a project coordination role, from which I then went on to take a professional qualification (PRINCE2) and I’m now about to embark on a new chapter in my career at a major UK financial institution, combining my project management skills with my love of data and analytics.

What is your favourite holiday?

It’s too difficult to choose between my honeymoon in Mexico and my trip to Abu Dhabi for the final Formula 1 race of 2018.  Both holidays were incredible for completely different reasons; the honeymoon was one of the most relaxing breaks I’ve had, after all of the stress organising a wedding it was amazing to get away and just do nothing.  Whereas the Abu Dhabi trip (which was a surprise from my amazing wife for my 30th birthday) was an experience I’ll never forget.  Being the first Formula 1 race I’ve attended it’s certainly given both me and my wife the bug to go to more, the spectacle is like nothing else.

What are your favourite TV shows?

My viewing habits are fairly eclectic, here’s a few of my favourite genres and shows:

  • Law based shows like NCIS and Suits
  • Medical shows like Holby City and The Good Doctor
  • ‘Reality’ shows like Supervet & 24 Hours in A&E
  • Big Dramas like Billions & Game of Thrones
  • Sitcoms like Big Bang Theory and Brooklyn Nine-Nine

What’s something you like to do the old fashioned way?

As a digital native there isn’t much I do the old fashioned way.  If there’s a way to automate or digitise the way I do something I’m all for it.  The first thing I did after moving into my new house was install smart lights and thermostats so I can automate schedules and routines.

What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you?

While it may seem like the cliché answer, meeting my wife was the greatest thing that has ever happened to me.

What is your coffee order?

For most of the year I’m a happy with an extra shot skinny latte but, as soon as Pumpkin Spice is around I can’t help myself!  I’m also a big fan of the Christmas flavours at Starbucks, skinny goes out the window when Eggnog is available.
